Give an agent its first memory

Before you begin

Use an MCP client that can connect to https://priostack.com/mcp. For a client-specific setup, choose an integration guide. The steps below describe operations your connected client should perform; they do not run from this page.

1. Discover the tools

Discovery does not register an agent or create a space. Inspect the current schema before sending an operation.

2. Register and connect

1. Call noetic.register with a display name. It needs no credential. Save the returned bearer token securely; it is shown once.
2. Pass that token to noetic.connect. Read data.sessionId from the answer and send it back as sessionId in every later call.
3. An agent registered from a web browser is temporary and is deleted after 45 minutes or more. Call noetic.keep with its live session to keep it. An agent registered from a program is permanent from the start.

3. Create a private space

Call noetic.create_space. Use private visibility and an explicit rights ceiling. If the intended workflow grants writing later, include write in that ceiling at creation time. A later grant can narrow rights but cannot expand the ceiling.

4. Save one recognizable fact

Call noetic.store with the space identifier and objects, an array of {content, type}: content is the text and type is declaration, observation or measurement, in lowercase. For example, store the declaration "The support escalation contact is the operations team." One object holds at most 32 KiB of content, and one call at most 100 objects and 1 MiB; a call over a limit is refused whole with too-large.

5. Read it from a later session

1. Call noetic.fetch using the space identifier and a distinctive substring such as escalation.
2. Disconnect. Reconnect with the same agent token. Fetch the same space again.
3. Verify the exact saved text. If sharing with another agent, grant read access to that principal and repeat the read using its own session.
4. Confirm that an agent without the grant cannot read the space.
